For us traveling to Amsterdam and admiring its beauty is not complete without knowing the city's 1000 year history, its golden era, the religion's impact, its famous trading company Dutch East India Company and its freedom of thinking. Therefore we decided to visit Amsterdam Museum where we could learn the city's history now, then and its prospect in the future. If you only have an hour up to two hours, Amsterdam Museum is one of the good choices to spend time.
Amsterdam transform from a fishermen village along the banks of the River Amstel into an important city in Europe and as the capital of the Netherland. The story of a city which builds in millions of piles is exhibits in a very interactive way, visit the permananent exhibition named AMSTERDAM DNA on the first floor. In our opinion, it is easy to follow the story since it presents chronologically in a time frame.

As your information, the building now hosted as Amsterdam Museum previously in the 17th century was a City Orphanage of Amsterdam. Picture above depicted the Governors Room, where governors of Amsterdam's civil orphanage held their weekly meeting between 1634-1960. You could visit a permanent exhibition of the Little Orphanage to have an experience of life used to be in that era for those children.

There are so many stories we could find in this museum. If we want to explore it in details it might takes three up to four hours. After an hour and a half we decided to visit it another time, it might be overmuch for only one visit.
