Used to leave in a tropical country where the warm of sunshine and the bright of daylight are things that I took for granted. Since moving to Berlin, perhaps nobody is more excited than me when the temperature gradually raising above 10 degrees Celcius and the sun comes earlier than before. I appreciate the sun more than ever before.
Things that I do besides starting to changing my jacket to thiner one, are buying some flowers like tulips or hyachintus. I also started planting some bulbs last autumn and expect them to bloom this spring, if I am lucky enough.
Once I lived in Japan, I must say celebrating spring in Japan is a kind of spiritual celebration. The cherry blossom or sakura is the main attraction of spring and it usually blooms in April.
Berlin is not Japan and it is located even quite far away from it. Eventhough so Berliner are big fans of Japanese manga and food. We have some authentic Japanese restaurant as well we celebrate Hanami, the spring festival celebrated by Japanese. It's the custom in Japan of having parties under sakura trees when they bloom in early spring.

Spring in Berlin
Tips:
1. Boating season
Berlin in April is really coming into life. Why not take advantage by enjoying Berlin from water as you sip Berliner Kindl on board? The tours take you through the major city' sightseeing.

2. Beer garten
Finally no more sitting indoor while sipping beer. The famous and oldest beer garden in Berlin is Prater, located in Prenzlaur berg. My favorite is Strandbar Mitte, just right to Bode Museum.
3. Berliner Dom
The most beautiful and impressive church in the city in my opinion. I love the exterior as well as the interior. Fascinated as well by the Hohenzollern Crypt underneath the cathderal. Climb to the top of Dom's terrace and you could imagine how beautiful the city center view.

4. Spandau Citadel
The Ritterfestspiele transform Spandau Citadel into a large medieval fair as market people, knights, fakirs, fools and dancers turn back time on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of the long Easter weekend. Medieval battles and knightly jousting, numerous fire and acrobatics shows, and plays provide for plenty of fun for the whole family.
