EYE FILM MUSEUM
- BAR & RESTAURANT
If you are in Amsterdam Central Station, very often you will go to the center of the city. Try something new this time, take a walk to the to the back door of the station. You will see from a distance a stunning building looks like an EYE, next to the famous "Iamsterdam" logo. EYE is a modern museum full of many things to see and do, all of which are related to film. EYE is reached easily with the free ferry which sails 24/7. Stop at Buiksloterweg, it might takes 5-6 minutes from Central station.
The building is open every day, and admission is free. This also applies to the permanent presentation in the Basement, where visitors of all ages can explore their collection. Tickets to the films and exhibitions are for sale at the entrance desk.
In the summertime, sitting on the sunny terrace along the water is a lovely experience. They have a restaurant and bar with a great view of Amsterdam Central Station and IJ harbour. It could take a while and need some passion unti you could find a seat. For lunch is not possible to reserve a seat but you could do it advance for dinner.
After strolling around the EYE museum, we decided to enjoy our visit by the terrace whie sipping Chardonay and have some bites of their shrimp croquettes. Their shrimp croquettes are one of the best! If you woud prefer beer instead of wine, we could recommend a bottle of local brewery named Brouwerij 't IJ, their IJwit (6.5%) or white beer is definitely worth to try.
