Summer in Berlin

Berlin might not located nearby the sea or beach but it surrounded by lakes and it is definitely one of the greenest city in Europe.

So take your bikini and sunscreen, get ready for some splashes and get tanned!

The only sand beach Germany has are the one in the North sea or Baltic sea. Although most southern Germans prefer to travel to Italy instead to the north for their summer vacation.

During summer I do not travel to the north or south, the reasons are simple; the accomodation is pretty costly on summer (the affordabe ones are sold out), plus I could not stand the crowd of people fighting for their spots on the beach.

Me, like most of Berliner, enjoy summer in the city. We simply take a picnic basket or griller and enjoy the whole day in the park (please keep in mind not all of the parks in Berlin is allowing people to barbeque).

Another ways of enjoying summer are heading to the lakes, either swimming, bathing, sailing or all of them.

SUMMER IN BERLIN

tips:

1.  River cruises & boat trip

Summer in Berlin can be quite hot. So you want to enjoy the city without being tired of walking? Jump on the boat and relax, order a beer or wine on board, listen some stories of Berlin's landmark by the guide tour.

3.  Visit Reichstag Dome (FREE)

The Reichstag, seat of the German Parliament, is the most famous landmark in Berlin. The dome and the roof terrace are only open for registered visitors. For the registration please click www.bundestag.de. More information please click here.

2.  Free walking guided tour

I love city tour, in fact I always take time to join a tour everytime I travel to another cities. The more I know the city, the more I enjoy my stay. Free guided tour means you are expected to tip the guide what you can afford if you feel your guide deserves it.
